Young ROWGC member Cam Hughes represented us extremely well in the Wee Wonders finals at St Andrews
The Adidas / Taylormade Wee Wonders celebrated its 24th year at the home of golf last week.
It is the only tournament with fully national coverage for children in the age range 5 to 12.
In 2017, there were 54 Regional Qualifiers and 9 Regional Finals. Cameron won the Welsh Regional Final (7-8 boys) to qualify for the Grand Final at St Andrews 'Home of Golf'.
As a rookie, this was a great achievement in one of the leading competitions of its type in the world.
At the Grand Final on 26 and 27 August, Cameron played 3 rounds of competition on the Balgove Course (2085 yard, Par 30) to finish +22 after 27 holes. This was a great performance against boys who were in their 4th year of competition; and overall a really exciting experience.
Cameron was noticed by many for some of the best ball striking in the field; and for tough mental resilience by making a great comeback after a triple bogey start to the third round.
This winter, Cameron's ambition is to become a master at 'two-putting' instead of 'three-putting' on the green
