22 handicap to 19 handicap in a month
Hands up who's guilty??????
Nadia has been in stirling form over the past month!! with 3 fine rounds under her handicap.
Starting off winning the Spring meeting with a great 38 points in tough conditions, following up with another Win in the Rose Bowl qualifier with a nett 71.
This week came her best score of 40 points in the Kit Kat Stableford. But a third win was not to be as she finished 3rd behind Alison Hope and Wendy Ancrum who scored an amazing 41 points and 40 points. This was also a proud achievement for myself and team THSG as both Alison and Wendy came through our Get into Golf program here at ROWGC.
This is a fine run of form for Nadia and as mentioned above she has been rewarded by reducing her handicap by 3 shots.
We have worked on Nadia's putting over the past 6 months and we have turned that area of her game from a weakness to a big strength.
Initially we improved posture to allow her the best opportunity to strike the ball in the centre. We followed that by working out her best strategy to Aim. Then recently this week we managed her swing length, aiming for the backswing and through swing to be the same size to help her hit the ball when the putter is at top speed.
She has worked hard on this and I am extremely proud of her efforts. Well done Nadia. Single figures next (I'm not joking)
Here is what Nadia had to say
'Huge thanks to Oli for helping me improve my putting technique and strategy. I have no doubt that this has contributed to my recent lucky steak'
We all know 3 good scores in a row is not 'Luck' Nadia, well done!
Other noticeable ladies to mention are LPH pupil Sally Fycun who has had two solid results with a 71nett in the Rose Bowl and 37points in the Kit Kat Stableford which has reduced her handicap down to 10hcp! Well done. And Audrey Causon with 36 points in the Spring Meeting after her putting lesson 3 days before.
And to be fair the Seniors and the Juniors have been doing very well also!
Seniors - LPH and THSG pupil Joe Hiram in his first ever competition scored a magnificent 40 points and finished tied 1st in the Seniors Singles Stableford!
Juniors - Junior Captain, Matty Dobbs and Leo Powell performed well in the Barnfield with scores of 40 points and 39 points.
Leo followed that up with 39 points again in Singles Stableford taking the top spot and a handicap reduction to 10!
In the Junior medal Archie Kendall fired a fantastic 70 nett to Win, closely followed by Fred Dineen with a 71nett.
All 4 juniors mentioned above embraced the Isolation period as an opportunity and where on a lesson online every week. They have came out of lockdown better golfers but more importantly better people. We are proud
